Summary:
To assist in the smooth and efficient operation of the main office within the secondary buildings.
Qualifications:
Possesses High School Diploma or Equivalency Assures compliance with Employment Eligibility, Criminal History Record, and Pre-Employment Drug Testing, and Physical Examination/TB Test Standard Possesses ability to maintain high level of confidentiality Possesses proficiency in the English language with strong oral and written communication skills Possesses ability to operate a computer, associated software, and other office equipment as assigned Possesses ability to deal courteously and tactfully with school personnel and the public Establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationships with others KNOWLEDGE OF:
Modern office practices, procedures and equipment Record-keeping techniques Business letter and report writing techniques Telephone techniques and etiquette PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

Provide assistance and support to all students and parents Assist with the operations of the Guidance office and Main Office Assist with the operations of the discipline process and attendance process Assist with greeting students, parents, and visitors who enter the building Assist with coordination of Academic Awards Night Assist with coordination of standardized testing administration and make-ups (GRADE/Keystone/AP exams) Assist with Sapphire Community Portal account set-up for parents and students Maintain updated list of available scholarship opportunities and summer opportunities Assist with student course selection process and paperwork collection/organization Assist counselors with classroom presentations Assist students in utilization of career research tools including Career Cruising program Process Working papers applications Scheduling Various Visitations, such as:
College Representatives, Military Personnel, Northampton Community College Instant Decision Day, and Career Presenters Process homework request phone calls from parents College/Career Resource Room:
Update college catalogs, applications and resource books, state-wide and national scholarship file, NCAA file and military information Ordering college applications, FAFSA forms, PSAT and SAT forms for students Type college visitation and scholarship announcements Work on Special Projects, such as:
Mass Mailings, Guidance handbook, and newsletters Types, mails and files all written correspondence for building administration Initiates and receives telephone calls; screens and routes calls; takes and relays messages Assist with substitute coverage via the substitute calling system, prepares on-call scheduling and completion of appropriate forms Assist with student and faculty handbooks Assists in end-of-year celebration preparations and duties Processes school and U.
S mail Maintains records regarding homebound teacher appointments, coordination of assignments, and receipt of appropriate paperwork and documentation Maintains records regarding concussion management Maintains assigned records and files, including student records (i.
e - attendance, free and reduced lunch, discipline, vocational schedules, and lockers) Assist with preparing daily activity bus rosters and notifies transportation provider Assists Administration with student scheduling and inputs schedules into system Assists in preparation and input of data for report cards and transcripts Distributes, compiles and mails all standardized testing results Maintains regular and timely attendance SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs various office duties, such as:
copy, fax and disseminate communications throughout the office Provides back-up support to the principal and other building personnel Attends meetings and trainings as assigned Performs related duties as assigned PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
